It relates to the fact that Newcastle are a PLC and are in the process of being taken over, and some-one on the inside had some info they used to their benefit illegally.

There's been a number of clubs in the Prem being taken over or had offers, and a some these are PLC's, Arsenal for one.

Just a theory.
