FAO: Martin Peters

Hang in there man, cancer gave me the worst and best day of my life. The utter despair of being told, quite coldly, that I had it was bad enough. I then endured 4 sessions of chemo which was a b***h only to be told that (despite my vain belief that I'd cracked it) that I'd need two more was really a f**king hammer blow to me (I really considered refusing it) and then the overwhelming incredible joy that day back in 1985 when a panel of doctors told me that I was clinically clear. I will never forget that feeling walking down Whitechapel feeling absolutely like the f**king luckiest man in the whole wide world. Which I was I suppose, but I don't have the words to describe it.
