Great to see that clubs will now own their footballs

That was the real problem when they were having to borrow them. The league would say to the clubs
"Now if you lose that ball you won't get another one!"
That was why all ball boys/girls were not actually real but robots who would make sure the balls would not get stolen by fans.

This became a real problem in Leeds, where the ball boys were programmed to shoot dead any fan that tried to steal a ball, therefore cutting their average attendance from 40000 to 20000. The payouts in compensation have driven Leeds to bankruptcy with only a Uncle Albert lookalike to save them.

So the news that all clubs can purchase their own balls is great.
