One of our Czechs supports Banik Ostrava

(or Ostrava Banik, as DiF pointed out the other day)

He knows of Davie Striker and hand signals tell me he's good and scores goals. The correct pronunciation, if you pay close attention, is exactly as elk and others have explained - but I didn't really 'get' it from their instructions because it's so hard to get across. Said quickly it sounds like 'Schihafka' but the 'sch' is not as in 'schweppes', it's a separate sound. Maybe 'Sjihafva' might be easier - try saying "It's Jihafka' and then remove the 'it'. But the 'J' is more like a 'zh'.

Or we could all do as I'm planning (hoping) and call him Davie Striker.
