Brellier looking good

Meanwhile, Julien Brellier is close to securing a reunion with former Hearts director of football Jim Duffy at Norwich City and is expected to sign for the English Championship club before the week is out.

The Evening News revealed last Saturday that the Frenchman was leaning towards a move to England. Despite noted interest from an unnamed Premiership club, the more concrete offer received from Norwich has brought both parties close to an agreement. Duffy remains an admirer of Brellier following his brief spell at Tynecastle early in 2006 and, as assistant coach to Peter Grant at Carrow Road, recommended the midfielder as a potential signing.

"There is significant interest from Norwich, I'll say that much," admitted Duffy today.

Brellier was released early from his Hearts contract in May and has also received notes of interest from Rangers as well as clubs in his home country, France. However, the prospect of playing in England appeals most to the 25-year-old, as does the chance to resume his relationship with Duffy.

A contract offer should be finalised before the end of the week, securing Brellier's return to UK football
