article about him here

'FORMER Hearts midfielder Julien Brellier expects to finalise his future next week with offers from the French Ligue 1 and English Premiership on the table.

The 25-year-old is leaning towards options in England and has dismissed interest from Germany as he seeks a fresh challenge for the forthcoming season.

Brellier was released early from his Hearts contract in May after failing to agree a new deal with the club hierarchy. He attained cult hero status amongst supporters during his two-year stay in Edinburgh but was often out of favour with majority shareholder Vladimir Romanov.

A return to the UK is a strong possibility with clubs in the English Championship also coveting Brellier's services, although he is refusing to name his suitors until a contract is signed.

"I've been speaking with some clubs and I have offers in France and England. I have to decide which choice is best," said the Frenchman. "I think I will play in one of those countries next year, although there are more English clubs interested in signing me than French ones.

"I hope to have a new club next week. I will be happy to come back to the UK for a good opportunity and a good challenge. British football suits me and I need somewhere not too far from France because I need to see my daughter."

Brellier left Inter Milan following the expiry of his contract in 2005 and signed for then Hearts manager George Burley, who remains an admirer of the midfielder. However, Brellier confirmed that Burley's present club, Southampton, are not amongst the interested parties. '
