I haven't felt this down about our club for a long, long time

The incompetence of our board is slowly yet surely dragging us ever closer to League One. I'm not bothered about missing out on sharp as he was never going to join us. I'm not upset at earnie going as that was always going to happen at some point. What really pisses me off is the fee. Had we bought him for a small fee then get out clauses would be understandable. However we paid a Rolls Royce price for what was then a less than Rolls Royce product, a player who wanted to get away from WBA. Why was a get out clause accepted? If he wouldn't sign without one either don't buy him or insist on a fee that would generate a decent profit on the deal. Derby must be laughing to get a player for such a ridiculously low fee.
The club ironically point out that derby's offer exactly matched the minimum fee necessary to invioke the clause. What did they expect? Did they seriously imagine that Earnie's agent wouldn't let potential suitors know? Incompetence coupled with naivety.

So then what do our well run club do? hey spend an undisclosed fee (i.e. one way over the odds) in the panic buying of a soon to be 32 year old on a 3 year deal who has had one good season his whole career. Doyou think he'll score 20+ goals next season? I'll be surprised if he manages 10 in all competitions. We have the wonderful prospect of a 32 and 38 year old strike partnership next season. How opposition defences must be quaking at the thought.

Mumby tells us not to doubt the board's ambition and to expect some surprises in the close season. Well it's a surprise alright. Last season was worse then the one before which was worse than the one before that. Now they have sold, sorry, given away our major goal scorer. Where are the goals coming from next season? Our defence is as tight as a whore's fanny so right now I'll settle for 21st place as i can't see us finishing much higher and we'll certainly finish below the scum with the current squad.
How much longer must we be expected to endure this 'little ol' Naaarwich' mentality from our board of incompetent thrill seekers?
