They (obviously) meant that there was no pressing *financial* need to sell players. Nothing to do with whether someone might come up with a big enough offer to buy someone that we can't or don't turn it down.

for example - imagine they'd said that. And then someone had offered £1bn for Andy Hughes. If we'd accepted it - would that mean the board were lying?
