What about the defence?

...after todays transfers everyone's talking about strikers, but where are all the rumours about decent central defenders. Shackell I have confidence in and for LB we now have two decent players. Ostembor can play at CB but his main position is RB. We have some youngsters and have been linked to Paul Dixon, a 20 yr old from Dundee, who?, and Anderson, apparently quite decent, but yet another, if, maybe and never to be rumour.

I know Doherty won player of the season a year back (most of the action was in our box that year), but I've never been completely confident in him. FFS he lost his place to Shackell that season, what were we thinking? His pace is s**te and losing free kicks just outside the box is his main speciality: er and also the major hoof ball culprit(otherwise known as a Doherty dink). No wonder he is still classed a forward on soccerbase.com (19 goals in 231 games!)

We need a no nonsense, solid defender such as Malky or Mat Jackson. Two of Worthy's worst transfers f**k ups, who we all know went off to help gain promotion elsewhere.

Defence, defence, defence- we all know a good team is built around a solid defence.
