Seen as we're having a "football" day for once, has anyone read "The Damned Utd" by David
Peace?
It's a fictional account of the real events of Brian Clough's 44 days as manager of Leeds Utd in the early 70s.
Tell you what, it's a f**king good read. Those who, unlike me, were about at the time and remember Clough as he was then and remember the teams that are talked about would be able to comment on how historically accurate the whole thing is, but it's a brilliant idea, and very well executed.
Go and get it. Waterstones had it in their 3 for 2 offer, fill yer boots.
