no David, you don't need to shut up

no-one is telling you to shut up. But if you have seen a player, why not use that information to back up your opinion, like this:

'I saw him play against Norwich last season and he was very impressive.'

And if you haven't seen him play, say something like this:

'I have never seen him play, but from what i hear from people who have watched him a lot, he's a very big prospect'

Imagine if i kept saying 'we should sign Leung Chun-pong, we should sign Leung Chun-pong, why haven't we signed Leung Chun-pong', but I had never seen him play or really followed him that closely. You'd ask me - 'what do you know about Leung Chun-pong?' I'd say, well, I heard he's very good. It's not such a convincing argument, is it?
