A bit torrent program is a peer-to-peer download program, allowing you to download stuff directly off other people's computers. A bit like Napster used to be, only better. It works like this:

I buy The Best Of Gloria Gaynor on CD, convert it to mp3 files on my computer, and tell the central server that I've got it available for upload. People browse a website on that central server and it tells them that I've got it available. The first person to download it, downloads it straight from my computer. Now the central server knows that two people have it. The second person that wants it can now download it from me and the other person simultaneously, meaning they can get it in half the time. And so on. The 1000th person to download it can therefore get it in no time at all if they've got a quick enough connection.

There are a number of different programs you can download to do all this, but I'd recommend uTorrent (that's actually a greek "mu", but I can't be bothered finding the code for it): User Posted Link

As to how you get an invite to oink, if all of that dunt put you off, I can sort you out, I'd just need an email address off you. It'd be best if you read the rules on the site first, as thy are strict on making sure that you upload a certain amount as well as downloading.
