OK then

1) I don't hate PG. I have never met him, and he doesn't demonstrate any behaviour worth disliking, unlike Joey Barton. When I've seen him he flaps at crosses and it scares the s**t out of me. Seems to be a competent shot-stopper.

2) I think Dirk Kuijt is over-rated at 10m pounds. They could have got him cheaper. When I saw him play for the Dutch National team and for Feyenoord (and yes, in the flesh for both as well as numerous times on the telly), I tried really hard to see what all the fuss was about, and unfortunately could only be impressed at his work rate.

For the record, I was similarly unimpressed by Kalou the younger, Mateja Kezman, Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink and Shota Averladze
I was / am impressed with Ruud van Nistelrooij, Jerel Hasselbaink, Jari Litmanen, Jan-Klaas Huntelaar and Kenneth Perez.

Just goes to show sometimes you're right, sometimes you're wrong, and sometimes a good manager can see something in a player which can be used to its full potential to help your team, especially situationally.

I was also shocked they took on Boudewijn Zenden.
