Ze Germans asked the Dutch to surrender. The Dutch refused, so ze Germans
threatened to bomb Rotterdam. The Dutch refused. Then the Dutch heard the bombers had taken off, and surrendered. Ze Germans then give several excuses as to why they continued to fire-bomb the city centre even though the Netherlands had surrendered. The most popular are:
1) Radio was down, didn't get message
2) They jettisoned their bombs and the low cloud cover meant they accidentally hit Rotterdam
I live in Leiden, between the Hague and Amsterdam. Don't follow Dutch footy much (went to Feyenoord-Vitesse about 18 months ago) but do get tickets for their Champions League games if I can.
