Estonia-England
Good points...
Beckham played well again-his ball for Crouch's goal was magnificent. Unfortuantely, it can also be said that Beckham hoofed two long balls into the oppositions penalty area and England players were lucky to get on the end of them.
Does anyone else think Wayne Bridge is actually a better player than Ashley Cole? Cole is an athlete, sure-but Bridge is more of a footballer than he'll eve be.
Joe Cole-good, less pussyfooting, more passing and good running and positional play-and excellent goal,
Crouch-Well done lad! Set up one, scored the other and was generally a menace.
Bad Points...
Lampard and Gerrard-were they playing? Lampard had a better game of the two, IMHO, but there still seems to be no shape or cohesion in central midfield when they are playing together. Have to assume Hargreaves will be in for one of them vs Russia?
Wes Brown-Oh dear oh dear oh dear. McClaren is in love with three Man Utd players that are, and never will be, 1st choice, for them-Brown, Smith and Richardson. Not up to it. Trouble is, if Neville is injured, who can play right back? Though his (Mac) inconsistency with Carragher is annoying, he slots him into the back four-and then he doesn't-and then he does-and then he doesn't...
Positional play-FFS! At one point Beckham, Crouch, Bridge and Cole were all operating on the left hand side together. If Becks is "the best right sided midfielder in the world" tell him to stay there, if Crouch is a cetnre forward, then he should stop pretending to be a winger. its just like watching Norwich!
Speed of play-Why can't we play like we do in the Premiership? Its all about speed, passion, getting forward, winning the ball and being aggressive-when England play, we abandon that and teams find it a lot easier to contain us.
The Sheff Weds/England "band"- Shut the FUCK up!
