Grant missing the point?
I wonder whether Grant is looking in the wrong places to strengthen the team, with the money we have.
I mean, I would be delighted should we sign Sharp and Marshall but surely a quality centre back and a creative midfielder is paramount?
Spending over £3m on those two players would show ambition, but it means nothing if we cant stop the flow of goals at the other end (over 200 in the last 3 seasons I believe!) Shackell needs a good partner. Spillane will do well as a back-up and Doc as a last resort, no better. We still have Dublin but I would like to see him upfront to support Earnie or Sharp (?)
The only possibility is that we are selling Earnie, with the potantial to then strengthen 3 or 4 areas of the team with the £5-6m we will get. That, or Mr and Mrs Turner's cashpot is alot bigger than we thought. In that case the club are being very frugal in not annoncing how much we have to spend.
An interesting summer awaits...
