State of the Nation

As I am sure you all care, a few things occurred to me when insomnia struck;

According to Waghorn’s Ferret (currently free-to-view pending a visual de-cluttering of the site) David Marshall may well end up in Naaarich. What is interesting is the concept that, even a ‘massive’ (© Man City & Magpies) club like Celtic can be held to ransom by a mere employee. Like any other manager in the world wee GingerNuts doesn’t want a pi55ed-off player hanging around the training ground, and would certainly appreciate 500,000 smackers in the bank to help replace Neil Lennon. Fingers crossed.

NW getting the NIre job is no real surprise; how many other candidates with silverware & experience were there? Of course, he will need the luck of the Oirish but at least many have realised what a poisoned chalice he has grabbed – succeed and all the work was done before he arrived; fail and look what a mess he made of it.

And the Sutton s-i-t-u-a-t-i-o-n is still ongoing; this time, though, the agent is trying to push young John towards Grant’s tender clutches. Born in Norwich, tick; currently in Scotland, tick. The small matters of him being average and playing in a position where we are already covered hardly seems to occur to said Agent. But since when did the truth ever bother that profession?

Talking of slimeballs, Nige Reo-Coke has gone off jellied eels and wants to play for a BIG club. Can anyone guess the identity of the ‘provocateur’ in this case? Think Stan Collymore, think Cameron Jerome, think Jason Euell & err, think Damien Francis. Take a bow, Tony ‘I Only Rep Brothers’ Finnegan. The rumour that Finnegan is setting up a UK branch of the NAACP is strongly denied.
