This is one of the key things that sets Grant and Worthy apart.

Grant's A-list seems to be the fans' A-list (irrespective of how much or little we know about the player!) whereas Worthy's A-list were the fans' Z-list (Premiership rejects, aging never-has-beens etc.)

And obviously, Grant is trying to do business now, rather than wait until all the decent deals have been done, unlike Worthy.
