Both are quite risky signings in my opinion
Varney is relatively unproven at Championship level. He has had 3 seasons in his career at Championship level and only scored about 10 goals in total in that time.
Iwelumo could have just been a one season wonder at Colchester. Before last season he had played 132 games and scored 39 goals. That is a ratio of 1 goal in every 3 games. Not bad, but a lot of his career has been in League 1. At 28/29 years of age, last season could have been his peek.
I could be completely wrong and they will scored 20 each next season!
