as you well know, the argument against selection at 11 or whenever is that it damages the other schools - sec mods or whatever you call them. Condemning people who fail the 11 plus to a worse education.

Therefore if you don't have the selection system, then the people who would have failed it the test will get a better education. And so no-one will be condemned on the basis of a test taken at 11.

Therefore, as you know, it's not the case that "everyone will be a bus driver" in the absence of grammar schools.

Hence the logic you tried to ascribe to her was bollox.
