If you're looking for, say, "Dobbin", you go to the back where the index is
and llok under D for Dobbin, find the number and turn to that page.
If you can't find "Dobbin", well that's where it gets interesting. You might try related words like "Donkey", "Horse", or if it's a really brainy book "Equus" or "Equidae"
