Couple of things
Some are quoting £299 + VAT. That will be a benchmark proice. And a lot of the money in that you would have to pay anyway when buying your next house, eg search fees. Try not to let the anti-gov rags and those who actually believe what they write colour your opinion too much, a lot of the hype is nonsense.
