The most round-about I ever did was...

....flying from Charleroi (Belgium - about 2.5 hrs drive from here), to Treviso, then a bus to Venice. 19 quid plus car parking ? Bargain we though.

Fine on the way there. On the way back fog meant no flights to Amsterdam. The only alternatives offered were Paris and Frankfurt the next day.

Since the f**king Belgians were on national strike the next day, Paris was out (no public transport through Belgium to go and pick up the car).

We had to stay one night in a hotel in Treviso, then fly to Frankfurt. From there take the bus to Koblenz, then get the ICE (Thalys thing) to Amsterdam, then get a train to Leiden. The next day we had to then take a 3.5 hr train journey back to Charleroi to pick up the car and pay for the extra parking fee. Except there were train delays taking an extra 2 hrs.

And Ryanair refused to refund or to give us ANY compensation. Cost us about 2 days net, plus 600 euros. O'Cunts.
