Thoughts on the match and police etc
Alright game. We had the better of the first half, they had the better of the second, and it was no surprise when they scored. 1-1 probably fair.
After the game, I had to wait at the train station with a couple of mates as we were getting a taxi.
There were two gangs of guys. Call them the "Burberry Brigade" as the taxi driver did, as it was fairly fitting for them.
Not ONE of them had a Norwich shirt on. So do these scum bags just come out on derby day and hang around at the station for a fight??
One gang, of about 10-12 guys, got ushered away UP towards Lower Clarence Road, which is apparently the way the Ipswich fans actually got sent, so they went in the backway to the station to avoid any fights out the front - So that decision by the police confused me somewhat but at least they stopped these obvious thugs from hanging around and intimidating people at the station. Second group of about 8-10 could only have been 16 or 17 tops and also got ushered away quickly.
Points I'm trying to make here:
1. Why the hell bother to have fights at all? You do NOTHING to help the club's good reputation and if you want a fight then why not fight each other? Then you can keep it behind closed doors somewhere and hopefully kill each other off. We don't want thugs at our club,
2. The police did do a fantastic job. We were at the station for the best part of 35-40mins after the game and they had everything completely under control, making sure NOONE got in the station unless they could prove they were travelling.
