Heathrow Airport Hotels - any advice please?

I've been googling this for ages and am still at square one, so please could anyone give me a recommendation or warning?

I need a hotel close to Heefrow, which doesn't need parking, but needs to have regular, reliable transport to the airport (obv).

It ain't for me, so it'd be ideal if it's a bit nice, if you follow. It's for a one-night stay (for a loved one) before an early-morning flight to a Special Holiday. I've seen a couple which look quite nice but, as ever, reviews are mixed.....
