Good film on tonight

If you're stuck at home tonight, check out 'Heaven' on BBC2, 11.20pm.

It's the first of what was to be a planned trilogy by Krzysztof Kieslowski, who died before he could make them. Passed on to German director Tom Tykwer (Run, Lola, Run / Perfume), the film follows a recently widowed woman (Cate Blanchett) who takes revenge on the drug trafficker she feels is responsible for her husband's overdose by planting a bomb in his office. The bomb is unwittingly picked up by a cleaner at the last minute and the woman becomes responsible for the deaths of the cleaner, a man and his two young daughters whe it explodes in the office elevators.

If you like it, you can buy it here:

And then you can check out the second installment, 'Hell', by Bosnian director Danis Tanovic (No Man's Land) here:

And then, like me, you can wait for someone to ignore the fact that neither of the first two films made a profit and bring the script for the third installment, 'Purgatory' out of purgatory.
