I don't think that is quite how the rule works

It's more down to whether the back pass is intentional or accidental. I can't get youtube here because George W. Bush is keeping his beedy eye on my internet access but generally keepers will try not use their hands unless they get a clear signal from ref that it's ok.

I'm sure I saw a game the other day where the goaly actually aqsked the ref if he could pick it up before he did.
