Actually people do blink eyelids at that stuff

there's been quite a few comics making much the same criticism of Gervais that OG makes above - that he's using so-called irony to disguise the fact that his gags about handicapped people etc are appealing to the same prejudices / fears etc that 70s comedians went for. So not a new debate.

I'm with OG on this one, btw.
