But given the hurri was superceded thereafter by the spit, and the spit saw more action as a fighter, I'd have thought that overall the spit would have more victories in WW2. Could be wrong.

Hurri deffo had more claims in the BoB though, particularly against the slower bombers. The spit did much better against the german fighters mind.
