Can't quite understand the hostility towards standing areas being reintroduced
Just reading the comments on the bbc talk page about this and already hillsborough and lille a couple of weeks ago have been brought up. No one is advocating the return of 1970's/1980's style terracing but instead safe standing areas like the one's that are currently used in Germany, plus those places had fences and idiotic coppers who didn't have a clue. Surely it's a win/win for everyone? Those that wish to stand can and those that wish to sit won't have people standing up in front of them for the whole game. Plus having standing areas are a hell of a lot safer than having people stand in seated areas for an entire match. Richard Caborn's reluctance to even discuss this topic is disgraceful, so much for democracy.
