Paul Gallacher
Ryan Jarvis

Michael Spillane
Joe Lewis
Andrew Cave-Brown
Chris Martin

(I believe Spillane, Lewis, Cave-Brown and Martin will be good enough to be in the first team squad on a regular basis)

Get rid of:
Matthieu Louis-Jean (Already going)
Peter Thorne
Andy Hughes
Ian Henderson
Paul McVeigh
Gary Doherty

Not sure (Haven't seen enough of them, but cheap to retain):
Rossi Jarvis
Robert Eagle
Matthew Halliday
Andrew Fisk
Steven Arnold

That would leave us with a squad of 19 (to 24 depending on retained youths):
2 goalkeepers (Gallacher, Lewis)
1 left back (Drury)
2 right backs (Colin, Cave-Brown)
3 centre backs (Shackell, Spillane, Dublin (+ Halliday))
2 left midfielders (Huckerby, Lappin (+ Eagle))
2 right midfielders (Chadwick, Croft)
3 central midfielders (Safri, Etuhu, Fotheringham)
3 strikers (Earnshaw, Brown, Martin, Ryan Jarvis)

If you go by the rule of requiring at least 2 senior players per position, and 3 goalkeepers, we should be in the market for:

1 goalkeeper (first choice)
1 left back
1 centre back (first choice)
1 central midfielder
1 striker (ycNhtms!)

Now, the difficult part... Who to get in...
