For me, that's what's so good about it.

Highly original - there were plenty of cringeworthy moments in (say) Fawlty Towers, but I can't think of anything that so accurately captured how awful working life is for so many people, and observed that awfulness so intelligently and humorously.

And there's more "pure" humour that you'd first think - the relationship between Tim and Gareth has many brilliant comic set-pieces, and Keith is consistently hilarious.
