really?

The US has been interfering in the Middle East for years, generally supporting pro-American dictators (eg Iran, Saudi Arabia etc) who will support US oil companies at the expense of democratic governments (who might be less generous to such companies). And all the while the populations of the Middle East have done nothing to the US. The people of the Middle East had good reason to hate the US long before 9/11. Even now Iran (pretty democratic by Middle East standards) is on the US 'Axis of Evil' list while Saudi Arabia and Egypt (not democratic at all) are not. The US hypocritically spouts its support of democracy while effectively saying "if you do what we want we don't really care what you do to your own people"
