Drama Last Night...

Self and Mrs Martin Peters in bed early. She reading, I watching Reading vs Man Utd, occasionally flicking to the Ceefax score updates and/or p.325 to see where the defeat or draw would leave us in the table.

All quiet. Cats asleep on bed, house shut down for night, warm, snug, gale blowing outside. Man Utd game ends, decide to stick a "Frasier" DVD on before I crash for the night.

One last look at the Ceefax scores. The legend literally flicks up at that moment...

Peace and quiet no more-self leaps into air, taking books, cats and duvet with him, shouting "...OH FUCKING YES YES YES, FUCKING YES, SIMON LAPPIN YOU FUCKING BEAUTY!!!! WE'VE WON, WE'VE WON, WE'VE FUCKING WON..."

Crash back to earth, give wife hug and kiss

She says "...that was only because Norwich won..."

Too bloody right!!!!
