all the clubs are doing it
to raise internet revenue. Your Blue friends down the road sold their old minibus numberplate for over 2.5k, they have auctioned numerous items and made over 7k online so far.
A small team like Oxford get 60-70 pounds for a signed shirt.
Tranmere currently have a bid of 150 pounds for someone to be a mascot for a day etc, etc. It is all about clubs selling direct to fans, to keep the money within the clubs. Fans get genuine article, clubs get money direct from fans and don't have 2nd, 3rd, 4th parties ripping off their brand name.
