True, stone-cladding is a touch of class, as is

chunky Paddy O'Doors, double glazing which looks like its been bolted on the outside and those front doors with the frosted glass in them. And door bells which play Rule Britannia.

Incredible how when people improve council houses, they tend to achieve the same effect as when they jazz up their Seat Ibiza with dropped arches, a spoiler, tinted windows and go faster stripes.
