Just a good excuse for a piss up...

The food is collected from the By Galley by the "Powder Monkey" (Usually the most senior person on your table, Just to piss him off).

You have one bowl and one spoon for all three courses. A chunky soup followed by a pot of stew and finished off with syrup pudding and custard.

A chunk of bread is served with the meal and is used to wipe out the bowl between courses.

All the food is brought to the table in the container it was cooked in and served out at the table.

The venue is made up to look like a RN ship from that era and the evening is interspersed with speeches and sea shanties.

Jugs of real ale are served throughout the evening and the bar shuts when the last man falls over.
Usually about 7 in the morning.

And there is of course the traditional Rum issue or "Splice the mainbrace" as us old salts prefer to call it.

All in all it's a f**king good boys night out!
