Either you were hoping the world would end, meaning we'd be spared the prospect of watching City disappear into the bowels of the old Third Division; or that there'd be an earthquake or other disaster, the season would be called off as a mark of respect, and either the current bottom 3 would automatically be relegated or no-one would be.
Seriously, that's what I thought for a moment - sad, aren't I? I do agree with you though: Smith and Jones are dicing with death if they don't somehow, anyhow, sign a couple of players who can help us get out of this. 24 hours to save the club? Sounds drastic, and isn't the sort of thing I'd normally take seriously - but can the board afford not to?
