I work for a v weel-known organisation - not a single expert in our business on the board.

And if there were ex-players or whatever on the board, eeryone would (rightly) complain when they interfered with the manager's decisions.

I#m not aware of us ever having a football pro on our board in the thirty years I've followed us. Ever. But of course it's scandal that we don't now.
