"There is a degree of antagonism between the 'daytime regulars' and the 'evening shift', reminiscent of the North and South divide in Italy. The 'daytime regulars' like to characterise themselves as witty, urbane and sophisticated, and like to reinforce this image by portraying the 'evening shift' as a lumpen community that would shame even the most impoverished remedial school. A key feature of the transition, which happens when the 'daytime regulars' stop stealing from their employers by spending the vast majority of their working time on the site and go home to listen to some shoegazing also-rans, is when regular poster Selwyn crops up with a question aimed at coaxing the spethal evening shift into football-related conversation.

These posts will often be statements such as 'If Grant doesn't sign 6 players we are f**ked!', which routinely fail to provoke any response whatsoever. This will be followed by another post from Selwyn along the lines of 'Anyone there?', and another 20 minutes later reading, 'I guess I'll just talk to myself then!' or similar. This happens every weekday around 6pm without fail, and gets slightly more amusing each time it happens."
