No.

- He played well, mostly, when he was played in his preferred position of right-back.

- He would almost certainly have been told that he would be a regular first-team player, and would probably not have expected to play second fiddle to Edworthy when the defence was leaking at least 2 goals a game.

- He knew relegation was a possibility but he is an intelligent player and probably saw, like we did, that relegation could have been avoided had Worthy been more forthcoming with changing the team when we were losing game after game.

- He is 34 and has one more World Cup to aim for. Playing in the Championship won't help - Morten Olsen is a product of Sepp Piontek's 'first team, first division' policy in the 1980s and won't play him if he's not in a top-flight team somewhere in Europe.

- The club were probably as keen to shift Helveg as he was to leave.
