If you believe Irvine Welsh this has been going on in the working class districts of Edinburgh for a long time. Pretty certain bands did the same thing with groupies in the 60 and 70s and beyond.

I've even heard acquaintances bragging of such things. It usually ends in "dirty f**king whore", which is where I start to feel uneasy. Especially in the case of relatively rich footballers and young girls swept off their feet by association with something glamorous - the question of consent becomes almost moot.
