Grant could not have possibly imagined the mess of a squad
he was inheriting.
He would have looked at players like Earnie and Hucks and thought: "What are they doing so low in the table?"
When he was first here he was talking confidently of the play offs and even not giving up on top two.
Now he realises that some of the players simply don't want to know and some aren't good enough. I bet he privately regrets coming to Norwich and woulnd't have done so if he'd know the full extent of the problem. OK, he'd have been sacked by West Ham but would now be assistant to Pardew at Charlton.
If he succeeds at Norwich he will have done an even better job than Worthy. The difference with the mess Worthy inherited was that he didn't have players on comparatively big contracts to get rid of and he had players with heart and soul like Malky, Iwan and Flem in their prime.
There is no-one at the club who can hold a candle to their combined level of commitment, leadership and ability. Dublin and Hucks come closest, but Dion is 37 and Hucks is not the same sort of inspirational leader of men, he's just a damn good player.
