He probably wouldn't
We bought Doherty as a Premiership defender, however this was when he was considered a liability as a premiership defender highlighted by the classic 'what it he doing?' comment from Andy Gray mid commentary V Leciester.
He won player of the season last season as nobody really deserved it and at least he made an effort to drop weight and get in the team.
He's an ok player but we need more than that
