Why do they do this,

Weather forecasters i mean. They tell you what happened earlier today, i know what happened earlier today, i looked outside my window. Then they go on to tell you what will happen at 2am tomorrow, I dont care, i'll be in bed, i'll be asleep. Why not just tell us what is going to happen tomorrow, or the next day. I dont really know why i bother as they can never get it right anyway.
