Can anyone ofer some techie help please?

Changed phone supplier to Telewest & they also takled us into having their broadband.

When they came they would not put a cable up to the back bedroom where the PC is as they aren't allowed to go on top of flat roofs (Health & Safety!)

So they fed it in to the front room with me deciding I'd go wireless.

Problem is that wireless will not work (have checked I have the right eqipment compatible for Telewsest broadband) and also every time I log on to the net (using USB Cable or ethernet) it comes up with "Cannot find server" but as soon as I unplug the USB or ethernet from the modem for one second & plug it back in, a connection can be made.
I've changed USB/Ethernet cables & still it doesn't work first time, so I know the fault isn't with the cables.

Because I can't get wireless the PC is in the front room on the floor as that is where the telewest lead comes in to the house - it is driving me mad.

Telewest have checked the modem from their control centre & said that it works fine.

Any ideas what the problem may be??
