I Get The Feeling....?

That, right now, we are nearly the finished article, but, due to a few faulty and/or worn out or obsolete parts, would be doing very well, winning games, and be a lot higher in the table.

We splutter and misfire, occasionally flatter to deceive, and can look very good-however, such is the problem with the parts that need to be replaced, it cannot, yet, be consistant.

Earnshaw is looking to be one of our best players and goalscorers for a long, long time. I really, truly, hope we can keep him next month, and, maybe, if after a few months next season we still look mediocre, come to a gentlemans agreement to get him a good move then. I fear, however, a large bid will sway the board, I hope they are not. I think, like Hucks, the playing environment is important to Earnie, he is playing regularly, scoring regularly, is in the Wales squad, and is hugely popular with players and management alike. I'd like to think that stands to something.

I also like to think what an Earnshaw/Ashton partnership might have been like!

A lot of our players seem tired and unmotivated, else square pegs in round holes, else just past it. A core that includes Camp competing with Gally, Saffers, Croft, Earnie, Chadwick and, hopefully, a improving Shacks might be a springboard to bigger and better things if we can get some good players in. Pearson would be a great signing, I am also hopeful that we will get a striker to play alongside Earnie. Add Hucks to that equation and the potential IS there, it just needs tinkering, albeit ruthlessly.

Worried about Drury but then he hasn't been the same player since we were in the Prem. Maybe he needs to move on?

Grant getting stick is ridiculous. He has inherited a poor and underperfoming squad whose sense of team spirit and motivation had been eroded long, long before Worthy got the push. As far as I am concerned the Grant tenure starts on Jan 1st and I am behind him.

Hopefully we will push on in the Spring and make a late dash for it-even if we don't make the play offs, it would be good for people to take notice of us and for us to be in a position of confidence for next season with a changed squad and attitude. Heres hoping.
