if the Board had done that and all the better players had got pissed off and left everyone would have been on here calling the board tight-arses and throwing away our chances of a return to the Prem etc etc.

Fans are ALWAYS demanding that board spend more, never less. But when faced with the cinsequences of that spending (which they wanted) fans always moan at the board for that too.
