Credit to Grant for sticking to his guns and being honest, but

He's made a rod for his own back. Everyone was prepared to give him a chance and give him time to sort out Worthy's mess. Many still will.

But by making himself unpopular with a section of the fans he has drastically reduced the amount of slack he will be given if things don't go well. This is the reality, whether people like it or not.

The atmosphere WAS crap, and he was right that the fans hardly helped matters, and I have every sympathy for a guy new to management coming into a team where it seems that some fans genuinely don't like half the players. Grant wants to do well and is desperate to get into the play offs - he doesn't want his first job in management to go to s**t because of the legacy of contempt for the team left over by the previous manager.

Which is why he needs to calm down a bit and be a bit more measured in future.

And he'd better hope we win tomorrow night, especially if the crowd give him what he's asked for. Because if the crowd sing their hearts out and we're as s**t as we were against Ipswich and Hull then he's set himself up for the Canary Callers "we gave them passion but we got nothing in return".

He's put extra pressure on a humdrum home game.
