Trouble is

the fans aren't going to support him if they pay to sit through games like that and then get slagged off by the manager.

The fans were quiet, but they were not a disgrace and they didn't let the team down. He is entitled to think that if he wants, but it just seems a bit stupid to come out and say it, and it certainly doesn't help heal the rift between the fans and the club/players.

Although things were bad in the last few games, the animosity had died down but he has just stoked it up again, and we are now arguing amongst ourselves again and slagging off the manager again. Just a stupid and unneccessary comment in my opinion.
